In my project, I am going to be mapping the prairie behind the High School. A lot of people know that it is there, but not that many have actually been out on the prairie. My goal is to educate people about the prairie and all of the things that can be found there. By doing this, I hope too help people see what they can do to help preserve this area and keep it as a state preserve for many years to come. Another environmental impact that I hope to create with this project is the creation of a herbarium at the high school. This is basically a catalogue of plants that can be found in the area. It will help people to see what is on the prairie now and also how this has changed over past years and how it will change in the future.
